Kevin Yoder

Kevin Yoder is a 1989 graduate of Hiland High School, where he was a four-year letter

winner in baseball and also participated in basketball. He earned his Bachelor of

Science degree in Comprehensive Social Studies from Kent State University in 1995

and later completed a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Salem University in 2015.

Following his graduation from Kent State, Kevin began his teaching and coaching

career at Fairless High School, where he taught social studies and coached middle school basketball.

In the spring of 1996, he returned to his alma mater as the head

baseball coach at Hiland High School. After seven years at Hiland, he accepted the

head coaching position at Coshocton High School in the 2002–03 school year, where he

led the program for five seasons. In the fall of 2007, he moved to Tri-Valley High School, serving as a social studies teacher and head baseball coach until retiring from coaching after the 2021 season to pursue a career in school administration.

Kevin then returned to Coshocton as athletic director and assistant principal for two years before becoming the athletic director at Perry High School in 2023, a position he proudly holds today.

Over 26 years as a head coach, Kevin compiled a career varsity record of 397 wins and 225 losses. His teams captured 13 league championships, and his 2000 Hiland squad made school history by advancing to the Final Four and finishing as the State Runner-Up. He was named League Coach of the Year 13 times, coached in the Mizuno All-Star Series twice, and served as a Team Ohio coach on two occasions. In 2018, he was inducted into the East District Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Beyond high school baseball, Kevin dedicated many years to summer baseball, including coaching the Coshocton Cherokees American Legion team and several travel

programs. He also co-founded and directed the Muskingum County Fall Baseball

League.

Kevin is a Past President of both the East District Baseball Coaches Association and

the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association. He remains deeply grateful to both organizations for their tireless work in promoting the game of baseball throughout Ohio.

Kevin attributes his success to the countless hardworking and talented student-athletes

he had the privilege to coach—young men from supportive families who embraced the values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. He is especially thankful for the many outstanding assistant coaches he had over the years—several of whom have gone on to become highly successful head coaches themselves.

Kevin and his wife, Donna, have been married for 24 years. They are the proud parents

of daughter Lexy, her husband Jansen, and grandchildren Owen and Olivia. Their son Trevor recently began his first year as an intervention specialist at Sandy Valley High School, where he also coaches football, basketball, and baseball.

Kevin extends his deepest thanks to his family for their unwavering support throughout his coaching journey. He also expresses heartfelt appreciation to the many coaches, mentors, and lifelong friends he has gained through the great game of baseball.
