Delta and Tinora High Schools
Brent Renollet was born and raised in Sherwood, Ohio by his parents Irvin and Mary Lou. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1982 while earning varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball.
Brent continued his academic and athletic career at Defiance College. He earned four letters in basketball and four letters in baseball. Brent was named Male Athlete of the Year in 1986. He was also inducted into the Defiance College Hall of Fame in 2004. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education. While at DC he coached junior high football at Fairview.
Brent spent his first year out of college as assistant men’s basketball coach at Defiance College. He was also Sports Information Director at DC in 1987.
In 1988, he accepted a teaching and coaching position at Delta High School. Brent taught business classes and coached
freshmen football, JV basketball and varsity baseball. In his three years, he had a record of 37-28, with one NWOAL title and one Sectional championship.
In 1990, Brent accepted the Athletic Director’s position and head boys’ basketball position at Evergreen High School. While at Evergreen, in 1991, he married longtime girlfriend, Tammy Young.
In 1993, he accepted a teaching position at Tinora High School where he would eventually retire. Brent was hired as Athletic Director, business teacher and varsity boys’ basketball coach. He continued as Athletic Director for 13 years, business teacher for 24 years, and boys’ basketball coach for five years. In 1998 he resigned from basketball and was hired as varsity baseball coach. “BR” has now retired from baseball after 27 years coaching baseball at Tinora, including the Covid year. During his baseball tenure at Tinora, he won 11 Green Meadows Conference titles, 14 Sectional titles, five District titles, four Regional titles and a 2014 State Championship. BR’s overall record at Tinora was 444-194 and a Green Meadows Conference record of 136-44. Along with Delta, his overall record is 481-222.
BR’s biggest moment of his coaching career was winning Tinora’s only Team State Championship in 2014. Both of his sons were an integral part of the success. Reid, a senior, was the centerfielder in the semifinal game and the starting pitcher in state final game.
Brevin, a sophomore, was the starting 2nd baseman in both games. In the semifinal game vs. Crestview, it took a steal of home in the 6th inning to tie the game and a steal of home in the 7th to win the game. In the final game vs. Newark Catholic, it was a walk off base hit in the bottom of the 7th for the win.
Brent has two older brothers and a sister. He credits learning many life skills and the game of baseball from his siblings and father, Irvin. Irvin played for the Brooklyn Dodgers organization for three years and was BR’s coach growing up.
Brent and Tammy have been married for 34 years. They have two sons, Reid and Brevin. Reid (30) and his wife Allie, live in Chandler, Arizona and are expecting their first child. Reid is in Human Resources with PepsiCo in the Frito Lay division. Brevin, (28), lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his fiancée Julia. He works for a defense contractor, Northrup Grumman, in finance.
Coach Renollet would like to thank all his family, friends, the community, players, parents, and the administration. Special thank you to his longtime coaches, Chuck Cary, Tom Henry, Eric Tipton, Paul Ferrel, and Reid Anders. Finally, a very special thank you to his wonderful wife Tammy for supporting and encouraging him to do what he has loved for the past 40 years.
