Bruce Cahill – Tippecanoe High School

 

Bruce Cahill is a 1975 graduate of Troy High School and a 1979 graduate of Miami University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education. He has two Masters Degrees from the University of Dayton in School Administration and Counseling.

Coach Cahill is currently in his 34th year of coaching high school baseball; 2 years as a Varsity Head Coach at Carlisle High School, 2 years as a JV coach at Tippecanoe High School and the past 29 years at Tippecanoe High School as the Varsity Head Coach. Coach Cahill also coached football for 9 years. His varsity baseball teams have a combined record of 587 wins and 253 losses, a remarkable winning percentage of .699. Under his tenure the Tippecanoe baseball team has won 19 conference championships, 13 Sectional titles, 7 District titles with 1 Regional runner-up. Bruce has been fortunate to have sent over 65 players on to the collegiate level including 4 who have been drafted by the Major Leagues.   He has had 18 players make 1st team All-Ohio while many others have received state recognition. Bruce feels blessed to have had so many great assistant coaches over the years that have made a huge impact on Tippecanoe High School baseball. Bruce is a member of the Miami Valley Baseball Coaches Association and has served as the President and the Hall of Fame Chairman. He was inducted into the Miami Valley Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2001 and has been that association’s coach of the year on 10 occasions. Bruce has also had the honor of coaching in the Mizuno Senior All-Star series twice. He is also a member of the OHSBCA and is currently serving a two-year term as the Southwest District Representative on the Board of Directors.

Bruce has been married to his wife Patty for 19 years. Patty is an intervention specialist at Tippecanoe High School. Bruce has 4 daughters: Jennifer, a graduate of Miami University, lives in Indianapolis and works for Project Lead the Way; Kristin, a graduate of Miami University and the University of Michigan, lives in Ann Arbor and works for the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center; Bailey, a senior at Tippecanoe High School will be attending the University of Toledo on a swimming scholarship; and Cameron, a junior at Tippecanoe High School also swims and plays soccer.
